Vision

Uniting African Migrants in Italy and Supporting Development in Africa

Mondo Africa has ambitious goals aimed at promoting solidarity among African migrants in Palermo and improve living conditions for Africans on the continent. The organization aims to unify Africans from various nationalities, offering them a platform to develop their skills and talents, while simultaneously supporting vulnerable communities in Africa. This proposal outlines the key initiatives Mondo Africa will undertake, focusing on education, entrepreneurship, and social development, specifically targeting women and children, the most vulnerable populations.

Context

The migration of Africans to Italy has increased over the past few decades, but many African migrants face socio-economic challenges, including limited opportunities for employment and skill development. In Africa, particularly in Guinea, young people—especially girls—lack access to education and professional development resources. This leaves them vulnerable to poverty, gender-based inequalities, and exploitation. In Guinea, young girls are often pulled out of school to help with household chores, limiting their educational and professional opportunities.

Mondo Africa seeks to tackle these challenges through:

  • Education programs targeting vulnerable young people both in Italy and Africa.
  • Entrepreneurship initiatives that foster economic independence for Africans in Italy and provide similar opportunities for African communities.
  • Community-building activities that promote cultural and religious unity among African migrants in Palermo.

Objectives

Mondo Africa’s key objectives are:

  • Ensuring the professional integration of young African women in both Italy and Africa.
  • Support the education and development of African youth both in Italy and Africa.
  • Ensure the professional integration of young African women in both Italy and Africa
  • Preventing violence against women and children in Africa by establishing support centers and educational resources for women. Mondo Africa’s objectives focus on empowering African youth and women by providing educational and professional opportunities. In both Italy and Africa, the organization aims to support African-owned businesses, foster cultural exchange, and provide resources for violence prevention, particularly targeting women and children.
  • Promote entrepreneurship by investing in African-owned businesses in Italy and offering professional development for young Africans.
  • Facilitate cultural exchange and social programs to unify African migrants in Italy and improve communication with their families in Africa.
  • Prevent violence against women and children in Africa by establishing support centers and educational resources for women.

These objectives reflect Mondo Africa’s mission to empower vulnerable African populations and provide sustainable solutions for future generations.

Transforming Vision into Reality

To achieve these goals, Mondo Africa will implement the following activities:

  • Education Programs: Establish schools for African children in Italy, providing a safe space for education and cultural development. In Africa, we aim to build schools focused on helping young girls become self-sufficient.
  • Entrepreneurship Initiatives: Organize apprenticeship and internship programs for young women in Africa, allowing them to gain an education while also making a living.
  • Co-Development Projects in Africa: Establish professional development centers in countries like Guinea and Ivory Coast to provide vocational training and support agricultural development.

In Guinea, particular attention will be given to gender equality in education, ensuring that girls have the same opportunities as boys.

Mondo Africa will establish schools for African children in Italy, offering a safe space for education and cultural growth. In Guinea, the focus will be on providing equal educational opportunities for girls, helping them become self-sufficient. Entrepreneurship programs will be designed to offer apprenticeships and internships for young women in Africa, creating a path toward economic independence. Professional development centers in countries like Guinea and Ivory Coast will focus on vocational training and agricultural development to address local needs.

Implementation and Sites of Intervention

Mondo Africa will operate in key areas including Palermo, Italy, and African nations such as Guinea and Ivory Coast. The association will focus on vulnerable populations, particularly young people and women, offering tailored educational and professional development opportunities. Additionally, cultural exchange and entrepreneurial projects will take place in Palermo to foster integration and economic growth.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes of this project include:

Creating safer and more resilient communities: By establishing educational facilities, Mondo Africa expects to empower hundreds of young African children, equipping them with the skills necessary for future success. The entrepreneurship programs will support African women across the diaspora, contributing to economic growth and integration. Furthermore, cultural exchange initiatives will strengthen ties between African migrants and their communities in both Italy and Africa, fostering a sense of solidarity. Mondo Africa will also create support systems to prevent violence against women and children, making communities safer and more resilient.

  • Education: The establishment of schools in Italy and Africa, empowering hundreds of young African children with the skills and knowledge needed for success.
  • Entrepreneurship: The creation of new business ventures for African women across the African diaspora, contributing to economic growth and integration.
  • Cultural Exchange: Strengthening the relationship between African migrants and their communities in both Italy and Africa, fostering solidarity and mutual support.
  • Violence Prevention: The development of support systems and centers in Africa to prevent violence against women and children, creating safer and more resilient communities.

Communication Strategy

Mondo Africa will utilize digital platforms such as social media and our new website to communicate progress, engage our constituents, and attract support for its initiatives. These platforms will be instrumental in building a stronger network of partners, volunteers, and donors who share the association’s vision.

Sustainability and Future Prospects

To ensure a stable basis to enact our initiatives, Mondo Africa will:

  • Establish educational and professional development centers in Africa that continue to provide services beyond the initial project phase.
  • Create a network of African entrepreneurs in Italy, offering them the support and resources needed to thrive independently.
  • Develop long-term partnerships with public and private entities to ensure continued funding and expansion of projects both in Italy and Africa.

The association aims to create a replicable model that can be implemented in other regions, fostering strategies for broader economic and social development for African communities.

Budget and Funding

Mondo Africa requires funding through grants, donations, and partnerships to implement these projects. A comprehensive budget will be developed to ensure the proper organization of our finances and the successful realization of our project goals.
